VW New Beetle. Fiat 500. Lancia Fulvia. Ford Mustang. Dodge Charger. Retro design is all the rage in the auto industry nowadays, and Citroen has released a concept version of a reborn 2CV. You know, this thing:

    It’s a CONCEPT–Not a finished production vehicle.

GM used concept cars in the 50’s and 60’s heavily under the influence of Styling Chief Bill Mitchell, who replaced the un-replaceable Harley Earl at Earl’s request.

NONE of the concepts came to full fruition as a production car. Sometimes only the NAME would be used. More often than not, features from a concept would find their way into a production car.

Check out the video (was on VHS, may be on DVD by now) “Dream Cars of the 50’s and 60’s. Many concept cars, sales commercials, training film clip for a Sinclair Franchisee, just chock full

As for the Citroen, It’s a bit out there. They may reproduce the car but probably not in it’s Judge Dredd looking skin.

That’s Citroen’s version of retro? Wow. It looks like a Coors Light can on wheels.
