and what does this have to do with the wheelchair story, pundit?

powers seems to be doing really well among the debators in the previous thread, don’cha think?

why not write about obama’s great poll numbers. zogby’s got him at 44 percent, gallup at 46 percent, each 2-3 points ahead of mccain, margin of error stuff. why isn’t he doing better? like jonny no-powers, he seems in danger of losing to a doddering old fool in a year when guys like him were supposed to take the country by storm.

to what do you attribute this?

the same sort of people support powers that support obama. supercillious welps who are actually contemptuous of the america they say they’re trying to make better. face it pundit, you don’t like the american people. you think your smarter than they are, and that is always a bad political mistake.

people don’t like like being condescended to. it’s very…unprogressive. rather reactionary in a dick cheneyish sort of way.

not too long ago you referred to me as a dinosaur, which i of course took as a compliment. had it not been for an accident of astronomy, some wayward comet or asteroid striking the earth and wiping out the giant reptiles, they would have devoured man before he even had the chance to crawl up out of the slime.

methinks that all the bright boys had best pray for some similar disaster.

“he seems in danger of losing to a doddering old fool”. I’d love to see where you get your numbers from if its more than desperately wishful thinking on your part. I’ve been canvassing in Genesee, Livingston and Wyoming counties and my ID surveys show the complete opposite. But thanks for the chuckle. It cracks me up when armchair pundits make pronouncements from behind the keyboard that don’t mesh with the info from on the ground.

its probably due to asshats like you spreading false rumors. just a guess…

how about that Davis doesn’t feel Gay Rights is a real issue… no wonder you don’t support him Hudson.

although, i think all in all the Powers supporters will be happy when he wins in September and November and you can crawl back to your gutter.

  4. Jon Splett August 14, 2008 at 7:11 pm #

In the grand scheme of things, gay rights ISN’T an issue.

We’ve got a collapsing economy, 2 wars we shouldn’t be in, a looming 3rd war with Iran, a stand-off with Russia over yet another war, an energy crisis, a health care crisis and a housing crisis.

    Those are real issues.

Gay marriage is a wedge issue conservatives use to get bible thumping bigots to the polls. People who take the ‘I really don’t care who you marry’ position aren’t running out to register to vote to fight for gay marriage because it doesn’t impact their lives in any real way.

I completely support the right of anyone to marry whoever the fuck they want. But it’s the absolute LAST thing I’d ever base my vote on when it doesn’t effect me in any way, shape or form and so many other issues DO.

you’ve been canvassing on behalf of whom out there in the hinterlands of wyoming county, distressing? i’m such an armchair pundit that the powers people have subpoenaed me in a stupid attempt to prove i’m linked with the davis campaign, which i’m not.

and jackson, you could take all you know about politics, democracy and the american system of government, put it in a thimble, and still have enough room left over for a piece of watermelon.

what was it that guy you sort of know at work thought he heard on the radio out there in lockport or someplace?

fascinating analysis guys! with you on his side jonny p. just has to do well!

  6. distresing August 14, 2008 at 8:39 pm #

You have a copy of the subpoena on Powers letterhead you could scan? There’s nothing to be found anywhere I’ve looked beyond your claims . And how does being subpoenaed give you any insight on what’s actually happening on the ground, anyway? Maybe they subpoenaed you on the basis of your reputation. I don’t know you from a bag a beans.

If you had any powers (heh heh) of discernment, you might’ve figured out on who’s behalf I’ve been canvassing. …..I’ll wait while you scroll up for more hints, Sherlock…….. Got it? Ok then, you might flog your memory to recall that it was this area that gave Reynolds his margin of victory the last two times. Still gonna stand by ‘hinterlands’? And, its Wyoming, Livingston and Genesee counties. Check out a brand new innovation on the Internets called “maps.yahoo.com”.

well, powers found one sucker at least, distressing. so now you’ve been visiting the homes of registered dems, maybe even 20 a day or so, in places that haven’t voted democrat since the reconstruction. good luck on wyoming & livingston county sweetheart. and why aren’t you doing orleans county as well? it’s a well known hotbed of progressive thinking!

i have a small financial interest in a little corner of wyoming county myself. and in the winter, when we all get done doing our best to kill bambi, we get to talkin ’bout liberals….

  8. distresing August 15, 2008 at 9:10 am #

“maybe even 20 a day or so”. More like 50-60 for each of 8-10 volunteers on even the slowest canvass in our little area of responsibility. And that’s usually Saturday and Sunday with the occasional weeknight thrown in. Not to mention the hundreds of voter contacts made two or three times a week at just one little phone bank. BTW, genius, its the primary coming up. Hardly makes sense (in the real world) to canvass the other side’s voters now, doesn’t it? One win at a time.

And the implication at the end. You should do some hand exercises to give you a better grip on reality.

  9. Russell August 15, 2008 at 9:39 am #

distresing, what is the reception like in the area that makes up the plurality of Dems voting in the primary? You haven’t mentioned Erie County. Powers is getting beaten up in the newspaper once a week now and there’s still nothing positive or newsworthy coming from him and his camp. Whether it’s low brow or base politics doesn’t matter. He needs to get ahead of these stories, squash them and start some positive news of his own so this negative stuff won’t matter. All the door knocking and chatting won’t matter much if the news about the guy is constantly negative, whether it’s originating from his opponents or not.

oh, saint’s preserve us, jonny powers arrested for fighting with the cops in me own hometown of cleveland. i could have told him there’s no percentage in that, but he never listens to me!

and i don’t wanna steal anybody’s thunder here, but wait till you get a load of his 990 forms. can you say “padded expenses?” no wonder we waited them until a friday to file them.

Hinterlands of Wyoming County > Niagara Falls

Metro Community News > NF Reporter (at least it’s delivered)

    That is all ….
