Jack Davis’ Crazy of the Day

2 Sep

Yesterday, “Upset Clarence Parent” left the following comment:

Today I witnessed the true Jack Davis. I was volunteering for Kristen Koslowski in the Clarence Center Labor Day Parade. As we were loading a trolly – which included children – I heard a large commotion and turned to see Jack Davis screaming at someone – later found out it was Jon Powers, the guy running for the same seat. The guy (Mr. Powers) had his hand extended trying to shake Jack Davis’s hand and Mr. Davis exploded, yelling and screaming for Powers to leave, at one point cursing so load it echoed in the neighborhood.

I am sorry Mr. Davis, but that is NOT how you should portray yourself in a campaign. Especially when the parade was lining up with children and women near by!

Another gentleman on our trolly witnessed the other guy (Mr. Powers) shake the hand of Alice Kryzan a few minutes before and they had friendly exchange, in a professional manner. I know they debated yesterday, but they were both at least professional.

Mr. Davis has proven himself to be completely unprofessional, and a very angry unstable person.

Happily, Davis’ complete breakdown in sanity was also captured by the Buffalo News:

Sitting behind the wheel of his gleaming black Excalibur at Monday’s Labor Day Parade in Clarence Center, Davis saw one of his opponents in the race for the Democratic nomination for Congress, Jon Powers, approaching.

Powers, who has been engaged in an exceptionally bitter battle with Davis, went up to his opponent and extended his hand — and Davis refused to shake it.

Instead, growing flustered, he simply shouted: “Get out of here!”

Powers, after persisting for a moment, simply sulked away, muttering under his breath.

“I just wanted to say hello, and he wasn’t interested in saying hello,” said Powers, who also noted that he asked Davis — who has avoided debates so far — if he was going to debate.

As for Davis, he said: “He wanted to shake hands with me — and I called him a lying politician.”

The funniest thing to me is that the guy who is running for Congress for the third time; the guy who created his own political party not once, but twice; the guy who admitted paying off the wives of the chairs of the Erie and Monroe County Independence Parties is accusing a first-timer of being a “lying politician”.

Davis need only look in the mirror to find that.

I’ve fucking had it with this guy. Honest to God this fucking scumbag needs to go away. I look in my mailbox today only to find more lies from Davis in the form of a mailer. “Jon Powers took money from oil companies” etc. Give me a fucking break.

Burn in hell Jack. You are the lying politician and you have made an absolute embarassment out of your formerly good name over the past 5 LOSING years.

  2. Jon Splett September 2, 2008 at 8:04 pm #

Actually, that story kinda made me like Jack Davis a little more.

Sure it’s rude but I respect a guy who’s that competitive.

He’s still a giant douche but at least he’s a giant douche who keeps it real.

  3. heavyweight September 2, 2008 at 10:28 pm #

    What a fucking prick.

  4. Haterade aka John Burke September 2, 2008 at 10:51 pm #

Disparity between the two stories. The News says Davis just told Powers to get lost because he didn’t want to shake his hand in some phony display. So what ?

The unnamed “upset Clarence parent” painted quite a different picture of loud “cursing” in the presence of children. I don’t buy it ….

Let me get this straight – it’s okay for Powers to (he pled guilty, no?) scream an obscenity at a police officer – but if Davis screams at him to go away he’s “crazy” ? Bullshit.

  5. Mike In WNY September 2, 2008 at 11:27 pm #

Jack Davis, fox of the day, donated $1.5 million to UB’s engineering school to be used to fund a new research center.

  6. InTheLoop September 2, 2008 at 11:47 pm #

This is like disassembling an artificial Christmas tree. Where shall I begin to poke holes in yet another bullshit story from this asshole…

First of all, no “cursing” or profanities were exchanged in the meeting between Powers and Davis. I’d like to hear from a source who says there was.

Secondly, perhaps the Pundit would like to explain why he chose to leave out the excerpt from the Buffalo News story which accurately reports Davis’ “cordial as usual” greeting with Kryzan at the end of the parade. Would that not be fair and balanced?

I almost feel bad for the Powers Platoon as we begin to watch their sniffling, floundering, dishonest, campaign flush down the toilet…

    How lame can they get?

  7. jacks dr kavorkian September 3, 2008 at 12:31 am #

How lame? Hmmm…. start a fake website, bribe people, insult african americans and mexicans, fail to show up to two debates… oh wait that’s Davis!!

Mike in WNY (nice to see another paid Davis guy hitting the blogs) – Powers did not pleed guilty to swearing at the officer, nice try though. Although he recieved a citation for another offense.

Davis is the p*ssy who his henchmen are keeping away from the microphone. The Buffalo News hasn’t been 100 % forthcomming with Jack Davis quotes either – as the Tonawanda News helps point out Jack hates Mexicans and Blacks now.

These debates aren’t about Jack – they are about voters hearing the voice of politicians without the sensor of campaign managers and political assassins like Vaughan & Mullen. I can only assume Davis skipped the second debate tonight that was put on by students – he dissed students from Geneseo who want to hear voices of candidates.

That is how disrespectful this man is to WNY voters. He shuns them now and will shun them when he’s in congress. What a two time loser (literally)

By the way “in the loop” I was at the parade too. I wasn’t at the beginning, I was at the fire hall, but I heard about Davis’s crazy tyrade before any of the candidates came by, although I heard it sans-cursing. No matter what he did, curse or not, he made himself out to be a jackass as usual and at least the people of Clarence know it.

Ironicly – Jack Davis is the only one who’s ran for office (twice as a failure) and he calls Powers a politician. Lame.

I didn’t see any sniffling Powers Platoon people, everyone was happy and having a blast. He had three times the turn out of either candidate and I noticed Davis had 3 of his paid staffers there marching (they were at the 4th of July parade with my kids and I was introduced to them and found out they were paid staffers). Alice had a slew of cheerleaders – ironic for a feminist, but no actual supporters.

  8. jacks dr kavorkian September 3, 2008 at 2:02 am #

Jon Splett would support a guy who’s only reaction is to kick and scream like the little cheerleaders Kryzan had marching with her.

Is violence the only way you know how to solve things splett? is that why you would’ve voted for the endless war in iraq? why do you hate america?

  9. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 8:38 am #

ok “jacks,” powers did not PLEAD guilty to motherfucking a cop, he was FOUND guilty by a JUDGE of motherfucking a cop. huge difference there, you’re right.

it’ll all be over soon children, six days. and then who will the pundit platoon support, dais or lee?

  10. Buffalopundit September 3, 2008 at 8:41 am #

Hudson, Powers PLEADED no contest to “motherfucking a cop”. He was not FOUND guilty by a JUDGE of anything. There was no trial, so you’re as wrong as you’ve ever been.

    I’m definitely going with dais.

  11. bean town September 3, 2008 at 9:24 am #

I’m voting Working Families Party – Powers for Congress!!!

  12. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 9:54 am #

there doesn’t have to be a trial to be found guilty, moron. you pay the fine. you’re guilty. the thing was overseen by the judge whose name appears on the citation, which was printed in the niagara falls reporter and elsewhere. the fine is a sentence. moron.

now i see that jack davis gave $1.5 million to your little college down there today. yes, he is an evil man.

unlike mr. powers, who raised other people’s money for a charitable cause and then spent it on himself.

  13. Buffalopundit September 3, 2008 at 10:05 am #

Hudson – you said he was FOUND guilty by a JUDGE. The only moron is the one who would say Powers was FOUND guilty by a judge when really he pled no contest, which is not a plea of guilty. And you call yourself a journalist?

Also, a “finding” implies that evidence was presented during a trial and that the evidence proved beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant is guilty, and the court then finds him guilty. There hardly seems to be a need for a “finding” of guilty if someone pleads guilty.

No such thing happened in Powers’ case.

Because he neither pled, nor was found, guilty of anything.

And also, Librul Murkin is right.

  14. Jon Splett September 3, 2008 at 10:16 am #

Where did I say I supported Davis?

I don’t have a horse in this race. I’m not a democrat and quite frankly, even if I was, I’d sit home for the primaries because all three of these candidates suck.

I’m following this race because the train wreck it’s become is amazingly entertaining. Jack Davis refusing to shake Powers hand? Sorry, but that’s great and I love it. It’s rare you get to see a candidate who legitimately hates his opponent and is so open about it.

Way to infer I’m for violence somehow though. I’m a bleeding heart pinko by everyone elses standards so you clearly know what you’re talking about. And if your boy Powers is so anti-violence, why the hell did he enlist in the Army? A job you voluntarily sign up for and they issue you a gun and teach you how to be a murderer isn’t exactly the career path of a pacifistic.

I can’t wait until Tuesday when all these interns the campaigns have trolling on blogs are gone and I can go back to being insulted for being a communist by the regulars again.

  15. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 10:29 am #

yeah splett, it will be enjoyable to go back to those balmy days when i was lerely a racist drunk, and not a tool for the evil jack davis.

  16. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 10:29 am #

tribe’s got a noon start today.

  17. Jon Splett September 3, 2008 at 10:32 am #

How do you watch games Hudson?

Direct TV or is Niagara Falls out of the blackout area?

I’m pissed MLB finally came to its senses and eliminated the blackout rule for next season right as the Bisons are losing their Cleveland affiliation.

  18. heavyweight September 3, 2008 at 11:05 am #

Hudson, we actually agree, lets go Cleveland!

  19. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 11:18 am #

actually, the redhead hooked me up with the mlb.com feed so i can bust pundit’s balls and watch the game at the same time!

  20. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 11:24 am #

splett…do you write sports for print locally?

  21. Jon Splett September 3, 2008 at 11:27 am #

    Ah you’re lucky.

Your connection must be on a server located outside the blackout area because when I had MLB.tv for a brief few months when it looked like Time Warner wasn’t going to carry Extra Innings, I was still blacked out of Indians games.

They better win today. The sooner the White Sox collapse and my Red Sox can sew up a wild card birth, the better I’ll sleep at night.

Also, 8 of the 10 guys in the lineup today are former Bisons. It’s going to be weird next year when I’m saying that about Blue Jays.

  22. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 11:42 am #

manning does tribe tv and he’s, uh, connected here in the falls.

top of the third. no score.

  23. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 11:43 am #

sowers just retired his ninth in a row.

  24. Haterade aka John Burke September 3, 2008 at 11:57 am #

Pundit … isn’t pleading “no contest” in essence the same as pleading guilty ? Doesn’t it show up as a conviction ?

  25. Buffalopundit September 3, 2008 at 12:11 pm #

@Haterade – It depends on the state. In Ohio, “the plea of no contest is not an admission of defendant’s guilt, but is an admission of the truth of the facts alleged in the complaint and such plea or admission shall not be used against the defendant in any subsequent civil or criminal proceeding.” In this case, IIRC Powers pled no contest to a lesser charge than that of which he was originally accused. It’s not the same as a guilty plea or finding.

  26. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 12:17 pm #

to answer your question, mr. burke, yes, it does show up as a conviction.

  27. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 12:22 pm #

    that’s correct, isn’t it pundit?

  28. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 1:06 pm #

    isn’t it?

  29. InTheLoop September 3, 2008 at 1:14 pm #

Are you idiots serious? I assume O.J. is innocent too?

Let me get this straight – In Ohio, “the plea of no contest is not an admission of defendant’s guilt, but is an admission of the truth of the facts alleged in the complaint”…and we can’t use this against him as an admission of the truth and thus GUILT? Judicial system flaws aside, ARE YOU SERIOUS, PUNDIT?

So, essentially what you’re saying is that he DID in fact tell a cop off to his face, but because he pleaded “no contest” (which isn’t an admission of guilt, but rather just an admission of the facts (because doesn’t that make a world of sense…)) our sweet, poor little JonJon is innocent???

Protecting an unqualified frat boy! This is too much!

  30. bean town September 3, 2008 at 1:17 pm #

Protecting a crazy racist millionaire? That’s too much looper

It was a citation, not a conviction. The plea agreement has nothing to do with what was said – and during the process it was stated by Powers that he did not say that statement.

So – what Mr. Loop are you suggesting Mr. Davis actually offers?

    Anything? Didn’t think so.

  31. looper around the world September 3, 2008 at 1:19 pm #

I’ve seen Loopie loop around 3 different blogs in three days – check the dates and next week paycheck – we’ll see who shows up on the payroll.

  32. Buffalopundit September 3, 2008 at 1:22 pm #

@intheloop: 1. O.J. was never found “innocent”, but he was found “not guilty”. He was later found liable for damages in a civil suit, where the burden of proof is significantly lower.

    2. I quoted directly from Ohio law, so yes, I am serious.

No. He wasn’t found “innocent” (as there is no such finding), nor was he found “not guilty” nor was he found “guilty”. He pled “no contest”, which carries penalties as if he was found guilty – hence the fine, but no criminal record, and the plea cannot ever be used against him in the future.

    I hope that’s clear enough.

  33. InTheLoop September 3, 2008 at 1:26 pm #

Must we be so literal when all anybody really want to know is did JonJon curse out a cop? Forget the minutia (and the OJ joke…that was a joke…ok, nevermind).

For all of you literalists out there: Did Jon Powers curse out a cop? Yes or no answers, please.

  34. Buffalopundit September 3, 2008 at 1:29 pm #

  35. InTheLoop September 3, 2008 at 1:33 pm #

  36. Buffalopundit September 3, 2008 at 1:36 pm #

Ha? Produce a witness or a tape.

  37. InTheLoop September 3, 2008 at 1:36 pm #

Explain to me why he would plead no contest…

  38. Buffalopundit September 3, 2008 at 1:37 pm #

There could be any number of reasons. The most likely one is that Powers could only defend himself with the use of witnesses who were unavailable or unknown, at which point it becomes his word against the cop’s, so take a no-contest to a lesser charge.

  39. Byron September 3, 2008 at 1:42 pm #

    “InTheLoop” is badly misnamed, apparently.

  40. InTheLoop September 3, 2008 at 1:45 pm #

Jon was visiting his alma mater and you mean to tell me he was wandering around at night (after a few cocktails, no doubt) without any friends and thus any and all witnesses were unavailable or unknown to testify at the time of his arraignment?

    Yeah, seems likely…

Maybe his college buddies realized it probably wasn’t in their best interest to lie to an officer of the law like their pal Jonny.

  41. InTheLoop September 3, 2008 at 1:53 pm #

I’d ask you to produce a witness or a tape as well, Pundit!

In the end, you’re calling the cop a liar and Powers a genuine truth seeker. That might fly on this blog, but not in the court of public opinion.

  42. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 1:53 pm #

“the plea of no contest is not an admission of defendant’s guilt, but is an admission of the truth of the facts alleged in the complaint,,,”

“What are you fucking looking at, you motherfucking cop?”

  43. Buffalopundit September 3, 2008 at 1:54 pm #

What I mean to tell you is that he was in a very large group of people leaving a football game, and someone in the crowd yelled something at a cop and Jon got popped for it. He has numerous witnesses who vouch for the fact that he didn’t say it, but it’s sometimes easier to just pay the fine than ask your friends to take time off from work/school/the Army to testify at a trial on a violation.

Anything else? Go back and tell Jack that it might be time to update his website. He hasn’t changed it since the gas stunt like 2 months ago.

  44. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 1:55 pm #

the witness being the cleveland heights cop who wrote the citation. the testimony being the citation itself, which the cop signed under pain of perjury.

  45. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 1:56 pm #

yeah, i’m sure davis will want to post the $1.5 million donation he made to your college down there.

  46. Buffalopundit September 3, 2008 at 1:56 pm #

I’d ask you to produce a witness or a tape as well, Pundit!

You might recall that the Powers campaign offered to do just that when McCarthy ran with the story about this. Perhaps if you call them up and ask nicely, they’ll put you in touch with the witnesses. KTHXBAI.

  47. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 2:01 pm #

btw, there is no football stadium near the intersection of cedar & lee in cleveland heights, ohio, where the citation states the motherfucking occurred. so no, he was not “leaving a football game.”

  48. InTheLoop September 3, 2008 at 2:03 pm #

Yeah, those rowdy fans at a John Carrol football game. I tell ya, quite the burden for crowd control…

You’re calling a cop a liar under perjury. End of story.

  49. Buffalopundit September 3, 2008 at 2:04 pm #

No, I’m not. I’m sure someone yelled at the cop, but it wasn’t Jon. That doesn’t make the cop a liar. It makes him mistaken. End of story. Tell Jack I said hi.

  50. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 2:11 pm #

there is no football stadium anywhere near the corner of cedar and lee, where the citation says the motherfucking occurred. mapquest the john carroll stadium and you’ll see it’s way the fuck over on richmond road. so tell us again about the huge crowd leaving the football game, pundit.

  51. WNY JCU Sophmore September 3, 2008 at 4:29 pm #

Students walk home from games instead of drive because JCU doesn’t promote drunk driving — unlike you hudson.

Powers is innocent until proven guilty and there is no evidence that Powers said those remarks.

I’ve gone to carroll for 2 years and the cops will pick one person out of a crowd and make an example if he/she feels he needs to.

It’s a bullshit citation – and if the best you have is a war veteran walking out of a college football game making a few “alleged” comments then your love Davis is sunk.

Seriously – Davis bribed party lines – created a political party because he know’s he’ll loose sept 9th – and even bitched out of debates because he doesn’t respect the hard work college students put into the debates.

Davis will never have the youth vote – because he’s a crazy old fart and no one wants a grumpy grampa laying around congress asking for alka-selzer after lunch and taking naps with the history channel on.

Hudson – will you put a bet on Powers winning? If he does will you post “I was wrong – Powers is a winner” on your paper?

  52. liberal September 3, 2008 at 5:42 pm #

so now it’s some anonymous blogger claiming to be a “jcu junior” telling some crazy story about drunken students walking home…

pundit’s story was that powers “was in a very large group of people leaving a football game” as though he were in the parking lot of the jcu stadium located several miles away. that’s what i was responding to.

actually, you’re right though. motherfucking a cop is the last thing jon-boy has to worry about. the thing about him raising money for iraqi war orphans and then spending it on himself is way more serious. as is his use of campaign funds to pay the rent on his apartment.

as for the bet, why would i bet with a person too chickenshit to use his own name? i mean, how do i collect when you lose?

  53. liberal September 3, 2008 at 5:43 pm #

    well, i blew my cover!

  54. lovefest September 3, 2008 at 6:32 pm #

collect what? the guy didn’t offer anything.

are you too chickenshit to take that bet hudson? if you’re so 100% sure why not take the bet and put your money where your mouth is.

  55. liberal September 3, 2008 at 8:31 pm #

maybe it’s a buffalo thing, but in cleveland, a “bet” is defined as one where each person puts up something of value. a bet where only one of the two “bettors” has anything to lose is much more like what we call in cleveland a “swindle.”

it would be much like what jon powers did to the people who thought they were giving money to poor iraqi war orphans, in other words, and we don’t play that shit.

  56. David Strenner September 3, 2008 at 11:24 pm #

    Good Evening everyone,

[EDIT – 10am came and went, and there’s nothing here. Please stick to issues and not ad hominems if you can help it, and please don’t post defamatory stuff. KTHXBAI. ]

Again, 10AM tomorrow when the documents clear.

  57. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 11:41 pm #

i wish mr. davis paid me $10,000. or $1,000, or even $10.

seriously, if you have any such documents you should give them to the nys board of elections or to niagara county district attorney mike violante, as i have stated — under pain of perjury — that i never took any money from davis jack davis or any of his campains.

and i’m not dumb enough to swear under oath to something i know isn’t true.

  58. Haterade September 3, 2008 at 11:42 pm #

JCU Student : “Powers is innocent until proven guilty and there is no evidence that Powers said those remarks.”

Powers pled “no contest” …. look it up.

  59. mike hudson September 3, 2008 at 11:47 pm #

    oh yeah, i forgot.

    go fuck yourself, “strenner.”

  60. Haterade September 4, 2008 at 12:29 am #

Hudson … send Davis MY way ! I could use a new bigscreen before the Bills & Sabres start !

  61. uppidty biotch September 4, 2008 at 6:51 am #

its ironic that “liberal” – hudson – would attack someone for just showing up on blogs, but not attack intheloop who’s done the same thing but is pro davis.

Hudson – does Davis where a condom when you crawl into bed together?

  62. mike hudson September 4, 2008 at 12:16 pm #

who said i was a fuckin liberal?
