You mean that McCain is just pretending not to be a Marxist? Next thing you know we will find out there are no pictures of him as a baby!

These precincts have been totally silent about the Obama videotape the L.A. Times is sitting on. You know (or do you?) – the one where The One speaks fondly of his friend Rashid Khalidi, long time PLO spokesman and affiliate of al Fatah?

You know – the one where he recalls fondly how his many conversations with Rashid and Mona, over dinner at their house, had been “consistent reminders to me of my own blind spots and my own biases … It’s for that reason that I’m hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation – a conversation that is necessary not just around Mona and Rashid’s dinner table,’ but around ‘this entire world”?

Wonder when Daily Kos will be featuring that video so BP can link to it. Yeah – thought so.

@Ward – “Obama’s friend” Rashid Khalidi? You mean, the same Rashid Khalidi who received a most generous gift of (nearly) ONE HALF MILLION DOLLARS from…..wait for it…..

    John “I Hate Israel” McCain!!!!

“…In 1993, McCain became chairman of the International Republican Institute. He still chairs that respected organization.

That same year, Khalidi helped found the Center for Palestine Research and Studies, self-described as “an independent academic research and policy analysis institution” created to meet “the need for active Palestinian scholarship on issues related to Palestine.”

Khalidi was on the board of trustees through 1999.

According to tax returns, the McCain-chaired IRI funded the organization Khalidi founded and served on to the tune of $448,873 in 1998…”

NOTE: I don’t actually believe Sen. McCain hates Israel. But, if his campaign is going to go down this road…

Keep lobbing up those softballs, all you McCain apologists. This should be a fun week of batting practice as the desperation gets deeper…

Thanks for that blockbuster piece of news but, anyway what do you think of the subversive socialist thinking that McCain has displayed in this video? Is it not frightening to find out at this late date that we now have two Marxists running for Prez?

  5. Ward October 29, 2008 at 8:31 pm #

Wow, guys — wouldn’t it be really neat if we could watch both videos and decide for ourselves? How cool would that be?!

Maybe we could just ask the LA Times real nice. If only I could remember what a journalist’s true calling used to be, maybe we could convince them … something about informing the … aw, afraid I’ve forgotten.

No – wait – I remember! That’s it! A journalis’s true calling is to find out as quickly as possible the name of Gov. Palin’s hairdresser.

  6. Jon Splett October 29, 2008 at 8:40 pm #

I think Palin uses the hairdresser as John Edwards did.

A bit too pricey if you ask me…

  7. Jon Splett October 29, 2008 at 8:41 pm #

    *same hairdresser*

  8. STEEL October 29, 2008 at 8:48 pm #

But Ward, McCain is a Godless socialist. Does this not concern you?!

  9. The Humanist October 29, 2008 at 10:13 pm #

@Ward – I don’t believe the LA Times’ editorial policy is to release videos just because the RNC commands them to in order to prop up the Obama Smear du Jour.

Just the same as the paper is not beating the hustings looking for tape of McCain palling around with a real fucking terrorist and criminal G. Gordon Liddy. Mostly because they have McCain on Letterman last week defending his good buddy, “Two Shots In The Head” Liddy.

  10. Ward October 30, 2008 at 4:38 pm #

No, Humanist–it’s “I can do two years standing on my head” Liddy.

  11. The Humanist October 30, 2008 at 5:30 pm #

Looks like we have a member of the G. Gordon Liddy He-Man Fan Club. I wonder if Ward gets a chubby over some other Liddy bon mots:

    – “Now if the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms comes to disarm you and they are bearing arms, resist them with arms. Go for a head shot; they’re going to be wearing bulletproof vests….They’ve got a big target on there, ATF. Don’t shoot at that, because they’ve got a vest on underneath that. Head shots, head shots…. Kill the sons of bitches.

    – “Environmentalism is a form of pagan fundamentalism. These green wackos are fanatics like al-Queda. Just like them…Osama believes there are 72 virgins waiting for him. The environmentalist believes human beings cause global warming. They both want to wreak havoc because of their mad beliefs. What’s the difference?

    – “[Listening to Adolf Hitler on the radio as a child] made me feel a strength inside I had never known before…Hitler’s sheer animal confidence and power of will [entranced me]. He sent an electric current through my body.”

    – “[Discussing how he would have waged, and won, the Vietnam War] I wanted to bomb the Red River dykes. It would have drowned half the country and starved the other half. There would have been no way the Viet Cong could have operated if we had the will-power to do that.”

    – “[Responding to a question if he considered killing columnists who opposed the Vietnam War] If they were traitors as Jack Andersen was, directly helping the enemy, then yes.”

    – “The official version of Watergate is as wrong as a Flat Earth Society pamphlet

As in “ward of the state”?

The ONLY reason the RNC and FOX want that tape is for propaganda purposes, PERIOD. More BS from a desperate and despicable lot.

Cannot wait ’til tuesday. Victory will be sooooo sweet!

Let’s sit back and relax while watching the Republican party tear itself to shreds! Circular firing squad indeed!

  13. Jeff October 31, 2008 at 1:04 am #

    And, oh yeah……

I really do hope Palin plans a run in 2012. It’ll be a riot to watch her own party rip her apart during the primary.

If she’s the new face of the GOP, then the GOP is F-U-C-K-E-D.
