Quick Reads

First read this, then compare it with what happened here. I have to say the latter is a rank embarassment for NY City Councilman Charles Barron, as far as I’m concerned.

Barron has one point – there is still a good ‘ol white boys’ club, and there are far too few people if color in the Senate. But to put a color requirment on the seat is wrong, also.

Overall, as a democrat, I have become disgusted with my own party. I’m tempted to go Independent if they can’t keep their own house straight.

The first story is fluffing up nothing into cotton candy. Except for the Burris appointment by a corrupt governor the remaining appointments seem sound. I don’t get what the point is.

The second type of rhetoric is getting tired. That guy is complaining about a lack of representation for a portion of the population with a certain skin tone when a whole giant geographic portion of the state has been without representation for generations.

I guess the fact Gillbrand was appointed by Gov Paterson carried no weight. Makes you wonder how weak his support is in NYC.
