Dick Cheney may be an asshole, but at least he isn’t a lying bitch like Nancy Pelosi…but I wouldn’t expect the Pundit to be fair and balanced when it’s easier to be a lazy Democrat.
Buffalo=proof 50 years of Democrats =The most Epic fail.
Except for that time he lied about weapons of mass destruction right Keller?
Keller using your logic: USA=proof 40 years of Repubictards =The most Epic fail.
You honestly think that Republicans have dominated national politics over the past 40 years the same way Democrats have dominated Buffalo politics? You’re serious? Really?
mike just parrots what others tell him. remember the signs in the zoo—don’t tease the animals.
Just like the Republitards and Rush Blimpba, right hank? Cheney on 2012 !!
Nah Mike….the Republicans only needed 12 years of control of Congress and 8 years of Der Bungler in the executive branch to drive us into ruin. Land-speed record, it is.
So, Humanist, you’re following it up by saying that for the past 8 – 12 years the Republicans have dominated national politics as much as Democrats have Buffalo politics? That’s just as ridiculous a claim.
And you think 50+ years of decline and decay in the City of Buffalo is equivalent to what the entire country has seen in the past 8 – 12 years? That’s another idiotic claim.
But yeah, go ahead and keep lying to yourself. The Republicans are horrible and deserve all the blame for everything bad that’s happened recently, but the Democrats who have totally and completely dominated Buffalo politics for generations are great, even though they’ve run this city into the ground. You totally discredit yourself and sound like a blind, moronic hack.
@ Russell – pardon me for not chasing your strawman, but I was merely correcting Mike, who was being overly generous in giving the national GOP a 40-year window to drive this nation to the brink when they accomplished it in a swift 12.
As for Buffalo, I’m not equating the two. Machine politics and entrenched political inertia (most often wearing a Democratic party banner) should bear the lion’s share for a half-century of WNY failure. Jimmy Griffin was a Democrat as much as Strom Thurmond was. But, fair is fair and the Democrats who’ve run this city haven’t done much for the it or the people. One would hope a viable Republican candidate with progressive ideas for the city would emerge and gather support within the voting populace. I would be all ears.
@ Keller – let me see if I have this straight
Dick Cheney = architect of an executive-branch program of state torture = OK
Nancy Pelosi = received classified briefings by the CIA in which they didn’t discuss the application of waterboarding = “a lying bitch”
Good to see those “conservative family values” in action. You kiss your mother yesterday with that sewerhole?
Dick Cheney’s America isn’t? What the hell is that supposed to mean? It’s only American when Dems and Liberals question the Presidents authority? I think he’s got a right to question things like the closing of Gitmo among other things. I still haven’t heard Obama’s plan on what he’s going to do with these people when (and if) they are released. Waterboarding as torture? Give me a break. When it comes to the safety of American citizens I don’t give a damn if someone has to be waterboarded to give information. Sorry Pundit, Humanist and other liberal Dems…Obama’s, Pelosi’s, Franks, Dodd’s and Reid’s America isn’t…..
Oh and as for 40 years of Dem rule in Buffalo…where do I begin? The abysmal track record speaks for itself. One party rule has left the city in shambles….
The GOP doesn’t really have much of a chance in the city of Buffalo anytime soon. People are hurting in the city and the GOP typically diesn’t care about that. They want to do away with social programs in the name of profit. What rustbelt city is likely to vote in a Republican who plans to cut social programs towars an already hurting populace.
The county government is as much to blaim for the problems in this region as is the city, and I believe that there was a GOP majority in the County Leg when Lenihan took over from Pigeon….might be wrong, but I don’t think so. We are also on our second Republican County Exec, so we will have at least 12 years of GOP control of the top seat.
Blame the Dems….we are what’s to blame for all that’sbad in NYS too, except we had 12 years of Pataki with a GOP controlled state Senate for way longer than that.
The GOP holds as much blame in the decay of NYS and WNY.
Wow…I should proofread before hitting submit. Sorry that my fingers aren’t working well today.
