Deep Thought

Now that Golisano is moving to Florida, will he pour money into candidates’ coffers and (allegedly) also maintain close ties and coordinate with those campaigns?

Or is that sort of benefaction only reserved for New York State races?

the state board of elections came after the niagara falls reporter with lawyers, investigators and subpoenaes last autumn because i wrote a couple of stories about jon powers that convinced the deep-thinkers like niagara county dem chair dan rivera, his employer marc panepinto, and marc’s godfather len lenihan that the paper must have been getting money from the jack davis campaign.

no fiduciary relationship on any kind existed, and as quickly as it sprung up, the ridiculous investigation went away.

if that’s the kind of witch hunt the board wishes to engage in, and given the buffalo news’ well-documented and longstanding hostility toward golisano, you’ll forgive me for thinking that this whole thing is a load of crap as well.

Well I can’t speak for other areas or races, but I definitely know that they don’t coordinate with all the campaigns they help out. Last year’s race against Dale Volker, nobody either in the party or associated with the campaign knew what the hell RNY was doing, or when.
