30 May

It’s time to make something similar poking fun at Buffalo.

As a former Cleveland resident (really, South Euclid, but it’s a technicality), I found these videos to be quite hilarious. They’ve been floating around online for the past couple of months.

Also, FWIW, Clevelanders have been taking them as a joke. I would bet that if similar videos poking fun at Buffalo were released, locals wouldn’t be laughing as hard. Buffalonians are far more defensive about their hometown than Clevelanders.

The NBA on TNT hired the same guy to mock them…

    Results here

How did we miss doing this first? We have so much more material. And the tune is so catchy, so lame, so Moxy Fruvous-y, which makes it even more… ours! This town is a GOLD MINE for satire (as we all know). We need to do more than a faux CVB video. We gots to do it correct. Yes.

    @ Dan

lol tell me one person that would defend the look of the Main Place Mall, the Convention Center, the vacant homes on the East Side, the fact that Amherst is not only an example of “white flight” but has their own SWAT team, and how it takes us decades to do something about expanding a 100 year old border crossing!

    Need I go on?

EricOak on Buffalo Rising. Really, many of the regular booster crowd on Buffalo Rising.

if you muted it, and ignored when they flash the word Cleveland on the screen, you’d think it was filmed here

Not really a songwriter/musician, but if someone puts some lyrics down I’d be happy to turn it into video 🙂

It’s tough to do this kind of thing exactly right — I feel like I’m laughing with Cleveland (where I just was yesterday and it’s no wonder the video looks like it was filmed here — their boarded-up downtown former goth club even looks like the Continental), not at it. If such a Buffalo video could be made without being mean spirited, some people might get it. Maybe.
