Logorama

7 Mar

For those of you who hadn’t previously heard of the Oscar Winning animated short, Logorama, it’s a fantastic, subversive interpretation of American culture.

Imagine an animated mashup of a Quentin Tarantino screenplay, with Michael Mann as the director, merged with 2500 corporate logos (all used without permission) and an anti-corporatist subtext.

It takes on the omnipresent corporate branding that has become so central to our daily sensory experience.  It’s excellent, check it out.

As part of health care reform, why not label diseases? How about Citibank prostate cancer and Pepsi diabetes? The M&T Sperm Bank and Mighty Taco chlamydia?

But the opposite – where there is no commercialism, commerce, or free enterprise, is a drab and horrific reality. Leaving 1986 Czechoslovakia and arriving in Germany was literally like flying from one galaxy to another, far more advanced one.

I think you are just suffering from Chevrolet delusions. They have pills for that.
