    Welcome to PoliticsNY.net
    PoliticsNY.Net: BREAKING NEWS FIRST

ESPADA, ESPADA Jr., PIGEON & PARENTI SERVED
Sources: The government has issued information subpoenas, served on the Senate floor, for the financial records, etc., of State Senate Majority Leader Pedro Espada, his son Pedro Espada Junior, G. Steven Pigeon & Pigeon associate Gary Parenti.

Apparently, the FBI is looking into a number of allegations with respect to fraud, tax evasion & money laundering via Parenti’s consulting firm GDP located on Porter ave. in the Town of Niagara.

Sources say, “the government, on some sort of witch hunt, is alleging, among other things, that Pigeon (an attorney on Espada’s staff) kicked back part of his state salary ($70,000) to Espada’s son by having Parenti hire him as a consultant on a number of bogus projects, e.g., Puerto Rico Lottery.”

The alleged payments made thru an Espada holding, A-1 Multi Service LLC a cigar store in the Bronx.

I never thought I would encourage people to read Illuzzi but his “sources” i.e. Steve Pigeon and Gary Parenti are admitting that they have been issued subpoenas from the Feds!

UPDATE: Our sources confirm once again that federal subpoenas have been issued seeking financial information from State Sen. Majority Leader Pedro Espada, his son Pedro Jr., his chief counsel, Steve Pigeon, and longtime Pigeon associate Gary Parenti.

The probe is reportedly focusing on allegations of fraud, tax evasion & money laundering via Parenti’s consulting firm, GDP, located on Porter Ave. in the Town of Niagara.

We have learned that Pedro Espada, Jr., had been working with Parenti’s consulting firm after Pigeon departed to assume the post of majority counsel. GDP has been working on a number of projects, including international ventures, and needed to replace Pigeon, according to reliable sources.

The federal probe is reportedly centered on Sen. Espada’s financial activities and as part of that investigation includes his son’s relationship with the Town of Niagara consulting firm that formerly included Pigeon. Our sources say Pigeon severed his ties with the firm to accept the Senate counsel position and that Espada’s son was hired, under contract, to replace his at GDP.

Based on the Illuzi update it looks like Steve Pigeon is throwing Gary Parenti under the bus and putting some distance between them…..looks like it is time to cut the best deal for a plea bargin Gary!!!! Steven only cares about covering his tracks to keep his job and not do time.

I’m shocked that Pigeon, Parenti and Espada could be involved in anything as unsavory as this. I had to read it twice before the words sunk in. There’s nothing more bothersome when stellar public officials with records of honesty and integrity are suddenly shown to be something less….who ever could have seen this coming?
