Does a day go by when Antoine Thompson isn’t outed in the press for doing something questionable?  A few months ago, it was his myriad mailings to constituents that eclipse that of every other state legislator.  Last week, it was his “book” on the state of the 60th Senate District.  Today?  It’s revealed that Antoine Thompson was a recipient of politically calculated donations from the company that allegedly used political connections to land a deal to run a racino at Aqueduct.

His motto, according to his campaign website, is “Making Things Happen, Getting Things Done!”  For a price, or on your dime.

Wow!! I doubted we’d ever get a politician dumber than Tony Masiello (known as “Dumb Tony” and “Straight D Tony” by his classmates at Canisius). Then we got Byron.

But Thompson, known as “Bubblehead” to the folks at my neighborhood tavern, is dumb squared. Now, is he just plain too stupid to comprehend, or is he corrupt as well?

In today’s paper Senator Thompson claimed he didn’t know the source of his campaign funding.  I wonder why, when so many organizations are being audited or shut down for financing irregularities Senator Thompson gets a pass for ignorance about funding sources.  Some people do it, it’s money laundering.  Other folks do it, it’s called campaign contribution?

The IG releases the report 10 days before election day on a Thursday so as to get the full news cycle on a Friday and into the weekend.
Thompson wasn’t involved in the decision – is that right?
But that company gave the Senate Dem reelection campaign donations not Thompson?
Delaware North was found to be trying to buy votes. But they try to buy republican votes at a higher ratio — do I have these important foundation shattering findings correct?
I think Thompson must be a lot more powerful than his critics claim because they sure are trying every politrick to go after him.
All of it doesn’t add up to a hill of beans

So — is Alan going to endorse Grisanti?
That would be o.k., Alan — he’s one of you (D), although technically a “Giambra-esque” turncoat.

Thompson is dirty but is a wired Democratic good old boy who can do no wrong. It’s one thing after another. Thompson is the poster child for everything that’s wrong with politics and an embarrassment to the community. Can he be pressured to resign? I doubt it.
He’ll win on November 2nd but if he by chance lost to Grisanti, I wonder what the reaction will be in the hood. I’m sure you’ll hear that going after Thompson is a racist attack. How sad to see these low quality individuals in office. Maybe he can get some advice from Brian Davis.

The Antoine Thompson book IS NOT a Not so cheap) re-election ploy! I have the book, here’s the front cover: As for the back cover, Thompson chalks it up as being a “typo”:

He as always will win once again, due to the demographics of the gerrymandered district. Lets just call him mayor in waiting.

The more I think about this the more I wonder what it is that Delaware North hopes to get out of all of these political contributions they dangle in front of politicians.

What do they hope to get?
Why doesn’t the Buffalo News, WGRZ, and their ilk go after truly powerful people like the management of Delaware North?
Why don’t they hound the Jacobs Family and ask them about their motives and methods?

I said it before and I’ll say it again, Antoine is the absolute DUMBEST elected official in WNY. And the fact that he beat out Marc Coppola, one of the hardest working and most decent elected official out there makes me ill. I don’t think Antoine is as corrupt as he is stupid, he just doesn’t know any better. But the biggest problem is until the district is changed, he will never loose, no matter what he does, the whole situation is just very, very sad!!
