HUAC 2: Electric Xenophobaloo

10 Mar

Shorter Peter King: Irish terrorists good, Muslim terrorists bad.

King is a despicable and disgusting xenophobe who is a rank hypocrite.  Let’s be 100% clear – King contemporaneously supported a terrorist organization that indiscriminately blew up innocent Britons during the 70s – 90s. It’s ok if someone supported an Irish republican desire to be free from the UK, or decried British oppression – but blowing people up was decidedy not ok.  Peter King has now decided to put all of American Islam on trial in Congress, and to further denigrate an entire population based on the terrorists acts or thoughts of a miniscule minority.  It is King who is un-American.

I think he should get out of politics and get back to his weekly appearances on Schopp and the Bulldog.

The real bogeyman here is Speaker Boehner, who refuses to discipline his ill-behaved flock when they stray from the claimed objective of “job creation” and instead pursue witchhunts like King’s.

Given that Tim McVeigh was a nice, white, and entirely typical “christian”™ fella, King’s focus seems to this observer to be wide of the mark.

it’s ok for people to blow shit up so long as they look like him, act like him, and pray to god the same way he does

  5. mark March 10, 2011 at 3:55 pm #

as despicable as he is, he does have a valid point. not that i agree or disagree. but he does have a valid point. his ability to express his point of view is why we say fuck the troops.

as an American and as a Muslim I’m a big fan of the Second Amendment, I’m going to need that to protect my family from Bigoted whack job Tea Partiers that are coming out of the woodwork and who knows what they’ll be up to

Mark: It’s not expressing King’s POV-as rank as it is-that’s the problem here.

It’s the complete and utter hypocrisy of Pete’s views of terrorists then and now.

  8. mark March 10, 2011 at 5:33 pm #

Ismaeal that’s why the 2nd amendment is good, eh? I think the chances of that happening to you is as likely as a coordinated set of hijacked planes slamming into the pentagon and twin towers killing many people in the name of allah. Carl, thanks but maybe you need to get your sense of humor gland repaired.

  9. Ismael March 10, 2011 at 9:45 pm #

apparently you didn’t see what Tea Party right have done at a mosque in California, that’s only a start, if this nonsense gets out of hand it’ll be very tough for a Muslim to live in this country

  10. mark March 10, 2011 at 10:30 pm #

was it worse then what happened to the Coptic Christians in Egypt on Christmas? here’s a question: who is safer-Muslims living in a Christian country like America or Christians living in a Muslim country?

  11. Ismael March 10, 2011 at 11:00 pm #

we’re not talking about other countries, we’re talking about America, and white Americans outside of Iraq, Iran, and Egypt have it pretty easy over there. By the way are you stating that that 2nd Amendment doesn’t apply to me?

  12. mark March 10, 2011 at 11:39 pm #

Answer the question please. Can’t recall insinuating the 2nd amendment doesn’t apply to you. Ironic how you go for the gun when words will do. With that frame of mind perhaps you shouldn’t handle a weapon. I hear it’s a paradise for Christian missionary’s, women and priests over in Afghanistan, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Jordan, Egypt, Libya & Syria. Who is safer: a female wearing a burqa at the Galleria Mall or a female walking thru Riyadh wearing a skirt & heels?

  13. Ismael March 10, 2011 at 11:54 pm #

they’re both in dangerous situations, last I checked, The United States isn’t a Christian Country

By far our biggest ongoing terrorist threat is domestic, the American right wing. Of course King will blithely ignore his own base and go after the scary brown mooslims!

  15. mark March 11, 2011 at 8:00 am #

cant see the forrest for the trees apparently. the predominant religion would be considered Christian. when was the last time the US stoned to death a rape victim? It’s not against the Penal Law to wear a burqa but it’s against the law to wear a bikini in Riyadh. sounds like we have another gun toting, ignorant, extremist in our midst. good luck in the bunker with that gun.

  16. Eric Saldanha March 11, 2011 at 8:11 am #

Shorter mark – we’re almost, but not quite, as intolerant as Saudi Arabia and Iran. U-S-A! U-S-A!

  17. Ismael March 11, 2011 at 8:40 am #

Iran believe it or not is a whole lot more Tolerant than other Muslim Nations,

and some of the countries that mark picked out like Syria and Tunis are secular nations but whatever all Brown AY-Rabs are the same

  18. Ismael March 11, 2011 at 8:41 am #

how am I an extremist, what have I said that would make me an extremist? oh yea NOTHING

  19. mark March 11, 2011 at 9:45 am #

leave the gun, take the canoli’s. brown ay-rabs are like republicans in your view I guess, all look the same. you mentioned the 2nd amendment, not me, to defend yourself. Arming yourself with a gun sounds pretty extreme. Afraid of lawful assembly & unpopular opinions so you want a gun? you still have not answered the questions I posed to you but that’s quite alright since the answers are obvious. USA not perfect but no where near the level of inhumane treatment of it’s citizens such as Saudi Arabia or Iran! Puh leeze! Although it is interesting how this administration would like a kill switch for the internet.

  20. Ismaeal March 11, 2011 at 10:02 am #

so because Saudi Arabia has terrible human rights issues its ok if we do the same?

  21. mark March 11, 2011 at 10:31 am #

bone up on those reading comprehension skills my friend, good day.
