Local Proofers Believe Osama, not Obama

6 May

Ladies and Gentlemen, WNY’s most pre-eminent birther has now morphed into a bin Laden proofer:

It is my opinion that the Navy Seals did invade a compound in Pakistan a few nights ago and did, in fact, kill someone. That someone was most likely a person recruited by the CIA 10 years or more ago, around the time of the 9-11 attacks or prior to it when they knew they were going to be needing an enemy to vilify and a living one at that. It is my belief that this double was offered a large salary, possibly to be deposited in foreign banks of his choosing, a number of women to be his “wives”, and a compound to live in in Pakistan with his only duties being that he would stay within that compound for an undetermined period of time and pretend to be Bin Laden to all those he met and when asked to do so, including the women who would become his wives and the children he would produce with them. It is also my belief that the CIA and the US political establishment knew that they might someday need a moment like this but Bin Laden #2 really had no idea what ultimate purpose he would serve.

You should read the whole thing, because there are people who (a) believe this crap; and (b) aren’t institutionalized. (Past Coniglio posts available here). Osama bin Laden wasn’t important because the FBI poster doesn’t reference 9/11, because the Bush Administration de-prioritized his capture, and because, naturally, Obama is lying.  But Osama? He was telling the truth when he said he had nothing to do with 9/11 even though he’s repeatedly admitted his involvement over the past 10 years.

It conveniently puts OBL’s demise and the decison maker who triggered the chain of events into a box to be placed on a shelf in the back of the closet so no kudos or accolades can be granted nor any analysis as to why the prior administration failed to execute the mission.

This new breed of conspiracy theorist is disappointing. The tin-foil hat crowd used to take some strange piece of evidence out of context and use it to create their tales of government cover-ups, but now they just spin this shit out of whole cloth.

This blog post is a disappointing distraction along the lines of the stories focused on by the MSM to keep people from thinking about the important issues. Myriad empirical evidence exists that we have been lied to by the government many times, especially for the purpose of a “not war”. Was that really Osama? I don’t really care. What I do care about is the trillions of dollars, and the hundreds of thousands of lives, that are being wasted to fuel the military-industrial complex and to “justify” our military involvement in oil-rich nations. The price for these actions is also being paid with the loss of our freedom. We have a war-mongering President who justifies torture, spies on Americans, and detains people illegally & indefinitely. Where is the liberal uproar that was directed at Bush? I see no significant difference between Obama and Bush. Yes, Jon Stewart points out the obvious with his comedic style. He gets a twitter out of the liberals, then they overlook the obvious because Obama is one of their own. Keep trying to discredit the “tin-foil” hat crowd at your own peril.

      Afghanistan is “oil rich”?

Also, nice deflection. The blog post excoriates somebody who thinks and writes dumb things. All done analysis.

  6. Chris Charvella May 6, 2011 at 10:45 am #

Nero also dressed up slaves in lion pelts and bit off their penises. I don’t think we’ve fallen that far.

As for the rest of your comment, yeah, I’m pretty much with you on that.

IN 1998 AMERICA WANTED NEW GOVERNMENT IN AFGHANISTAN TO ALLOW CONSTRUCTION OF OIL PIPELINE

America has wanted a new government in Afghanistan since at least 1998, three years before the attacks on 11 September 2001. The official report from a meeting of the U.S. Government’s foreign policy committee on 12 February 1998, available on the U.S. Government website, confirms that the need for a West-friendly government was recognised long before the War on Terror that followed September 11th:

That’s pretty close to the time bin Laden was put on the FBI’s Most Wanted List.

    • Alan Bedenko May 6, 2011 at 11:09 am #

Christ Almighty. The comment said “oil-rich”. Not “pipeline-rich”. Give me a fucking break. Either write what you fucking mean or else fucking say “oops that’s not what I meant” for fuck’s sake.

And bin Laden was put on the ten most wanted because HE BOMBED A FUCKING AMERICAN EMBASSY IN KENYA. Or maybe, according to Coniglio, it was really Obama who did it, in preparation with his CIA masters for his ultimate accession to the throne of AmeriKa to put his plan into action!

“Afghanistan is “oil rich”?” Pipeline rich, potentially – try “Taliban” by Ahmed Rashid. If OBL never existed, we’d still be playing a Great Game there.

  9. Chris Charvella May 6, 2011 at 11:19 am #

and cue the “Obama as a Manchurian Candidate’…….now.

  10. Mike In WNY May 6, 2011 at 12:06 pm #

Next time I will be sure to expound on the advantageous intricacies of an oil pipeline to transport oil from the “oil rich” nations.

  11. Rob May 6, 2011 at 12:47 pm #

“or else say ‘oops that’s not what I meant’”.

Yeah show me one instance of one the Freeners admitting any error, ever.

  12. Tom Dolina May 6, 2011 at 3:07 pm #

Well, while Afghanistan may not be oil rich, they may be mineral rich: http://wnymedia.net/tomdolina/2010/06/trillion-dollar-land-its-all-ours/ If oil becomes less needed for powering our cars, then the potential in lithium in Afghanistan may be valued for electric car batteries (as well as our American electronic gizmos). And if Afghanistan has DI-lithium deposits there, then we’ll need that for our warp drives, unless you know a way to recrystallize dilithium (ha! good luck with that!)

  13. Brian May 6, 2011 at 4:19 pm #

Obviously, Navy Seals (and all our other servicepeople) are liars who back the Kenyan, socialist, Muslim president because….

  14. Hank May 6, 2011 at 4:20 pm #

I still get reform NYS posts, but I must admit that I’ve not read hardly any of Allens diatribes after the first couple of sentences.
Frankly, I’m a little scared at the direction of the whole group, which was originally to reform NYS government. Virtually nothing that comes off that list anymore has anything to do with NYS. Being a political conservative and a practicing Catholic doesn’t make me a supporter of the New World Order, but I sure as hell don’t subscribe to this Bin Laden proofer/Birther foolishness either.

Mike, actually there was quite a bit of liberal uproar over Obama’s inaction in undoing the sins of the Bush administration. Culminating in a sweeping takeover of the House by Republicans. Though I disagree with your broad brush government hatred, you are correct to point out that not much has changed, which makes me sad to the point of despair.

  16. Mr. F.N. Magoo May 7, 2011 at 7:57 am #

I listen to progressive radio almost daily and they are constantly giving Obama shit for not liberal enough for their tastes, Mike.
And there’s a huge, huge, HUGE difference between fabricating false evidence to engage in war and gradually extricating us out of the resultant quagmire. Maybe Obama hasn’t done enough in two years to satisfy all his critics but if you can’t admit that Bush created a massive disaster that is going to take time to unwind, then there’s no getting through to you at all.

  17. Mike In WNY May 7, 2011 at 10:17 am #

Mr. Magoo, your cartoon character was nearly blind, I see you’re carrying on that tradition. Tripling the troops in Afghanistan, while maintaining 50,000 troops in Iraq, is hardly consistent with “gently extricating”. Approximately 910 U.S. soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan on Obama’s watch, compared with 575 troops killed during 7 years under Bush. If that is the “progress” you support, then you got your money’s worth, albeit at a high cost in human lives.

  18. Brian May 7, 2011 at 12:25 pm #

General James Gavin, asked how we could extricate ourselves from ‘Nam, replied, “By boat and by plane.”  Troops coulda been home yestiddy.

  19. Carl May 8, 2011 at 5:28 pm #

Mike in WNY: Are you frakking KIDDING?

Take that “575 troops killed during 7 years under Bush” number and multiply it by, oh, at least 7 and you’ll be closer to the mark. MUCH closer.

Also, the majority of the deaths of troops in Afghanistan was on Bush’s watch too.

I think MikeinWNY is actually Osama’s offspring sent here to to be a d-bag. It’s the Taliban’s new version of d-bag terrorism.

  21. CMBarons May 9, 2011 at 3:14 am #

Not sure about the lithium- could be for batteries, maybe medicating those diagnosed bipolar. The geopolitical importance of the real estate currently known as Afghanistan, it is ideally positioned to support pipelines for delivering Russian oil and natural gas to the fossil-fuel addicted nations of the west. The Taliban got on the wrong side of this issue when they broke off talks aimed at building those pipelines.
